How Parents Can Help Their Children

If your child is being bullied, here are the steps you may take to help your child.

The KMS Bullying/Peer Abuse Prevention program is modeled after a national program that emphasizes educating students and staff about the different types of bullying and how to respond when students are bullied and when they witness Bullying/Peer Abuse behaviors. Beginning the first week of school, students are made aware of building expectations and what to do if they are bullied, provided counseling lessons throughout the year, and given a refresher course on behavior expectations and how to report instances of Bullying/Peer Abuse at the start of each quarter.  Our goal is that by making parents aware that we have a program and a defined process of reporting, we can further reduce the prevalence of bullying and peer abuse at Kearney Middle School.
